NO-SUGAR-ADDED ACAI BOWL
Updated: Sep 14
When I do not need to set an alarm in the morning and leave the house at a ridiculously early time, this is my go-to breakfast.

This recipe I got from the book "Fuel Your Body" by, Angie Asche. I've only made minor tweaks, for my taste.
Every morning, while I read a chapter of whatever book I've chosen for morning reading I have my coffee made in my Italian moka, half espresso and half warmed oat milk, and a big acai bowl of good long lasting fuel to get me through a morning workout and until lunch.
NO-SUGAR-ADDED ACAI BOWL
Ingredients
1 packet (3.5oz) frozen unsweetened acai berry puree. (Trader Joe's has them for a few dollars less than other grocery stores.)
1 banana, cut in half
handful of frozen mango - or other frozen fruit
1/2 c unsweetened almond milk
1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
fresh or frozen blueberries
10 walnuts, chopped
1 T coconut flakes
1 T almond butter
1 tsp chia seeds
Directions
Combine the acai berry, half the banana, mango, milk and vanilla in a blender. Blend until smooth.
In your bowl put blueberries, chia seeds, walnuts, coconut flakes, almond butter and sliced half banana.
Pour the berry mixture in the bowl and stir it up.
NOTE: The almond butter is mostly in a clump on my spoon, and I like it that way. If you don't like that put the almond butter in with the fruit in the blender.
